Guilty Gear Strive’s first season 2 major had only 1 character who did not appear in the top 64

Guilty Gear Strive players were very interested in seeing how much impact the game’s season 2 balance update would have on the highest level of competition, and this weekend serves as the perfect test bed for just that.

CEO 2022 goes down as the first major offline major for Strive season 2, but how much did that rebalancing change which characters and players came far into the tournament?

Although each character was repaired, things still look like Ramlethal and the Nagoriyuki show, considering they both had 7 players who stayed in the top 64.

Leo was not surprisingly far behind them in 5 choices together with Zato-1 and in fact Faust with BC | Apologyman who represented the good doctor in the top 8.

Although there are 2 recurring characters in the final between Ram and Leo, there was still a wider range of competitors who got into the top 11% of the class, including some previously low levels like Jack-O and Goldlewis who appeared with 4 players each. .

There was only 1 character on the list that did not appear so far at all, and that was Anji Mito once again.

The nerves of Happy Chaos and Sol seem to have potentially slowed them down a bit compared to what we saw in season 1, with only 2 of each in the top 64 and only 1 revolver man going as far as the top 16.

We’re sure fans were hoping to see the meta shake up more to make Ram, Nagoriyuki and Leo a little less present, but season 2 has only been available for a few weeks at this point – so hopefully we’ll continue to see things unfold in the coming months.
