Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Today, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge comes on several platforms, including Switch.

In case you missed the cover ahead of the release, this is a classic-inspired fight with not only the turtles, but many other famous faces. There is also multiplayer for up to six players. If you are still not sold, read on to see the summary of the reviews so far.

First of all, we will briefly highlight our own. We gave the game an “excellent” 9 out of 10 stars:

Okay, with that out of the way, here are some thoughts from elsewhere – kick off with IGN, which gave this new release 8 out of 10:

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is just what it looks like: A lovingly crafted reimagining of TMNT arcade beat em-ups from one of the best beat em em up developers in the industry today.”

Nintendo World Report gave the turtle’s latest game 9 out of 10:

“In short, if you’re a TMNT fan or love beat-’em-ups, you’ll definitely dig into the colorful and optimistic Shredder’s Revenge, especially if you can find some other ninjas to relax with.”

GamingBible was equally concerned about it, giving another 9 out of 10 points:

“File Shredder’s Revenge along with such as Streets of Rage 4 and River City Girls as a modern masterpiece of its kind, an exemplary demonstration of how to redecorate a stylistic path that has gone well already after so many go-straight experiences, and somehow make the journey so much more special than the goal. “

EGM gave it 4 out of 5 stars, but had some issues:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge seems to bring back the glory days of Konami’s side-scrolling arcade beat ’em ups and home hits based on everyone’s favorite young green ninjas. In its visuals and gameplay, Dotemu and Tribute Games have not only matched the retro classics they hail here, but perhaps even surpassed them. “Unfortunately, this journey through time is somewhat marred by inconsistent sound and an arcade mode that feels more like a blow than a thrill.”

And last but not least, GoNintendo – another outlet that absolutely loved it:

“TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is the genuine article, proving once again how Dotemu has an incredible respect for / understanding of classic beat’em-ups. Now we know that Tribute Games is capable of exactly the same thing, and these two as merging has resulted in not only one of the best TMNT games ever, but one of the best beat’em-ups in many years. “
