Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase 2022: Everything Announced and Revealed

The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase was the boatload of game announcements we were hoping for. From a comprehensive overview of Starfall, a long look at Forza Motorsport and expanded Redfall games, we got everything we wanted. Nearly three dozen more games were also announced during Microsoft’s hour-long showcase, read on to follow all the announcements. And remember to stick to the Xbox and Bethesda Games Extended Showcase next week, which we will also cover as part of IGN’s Summer of Gaming.

Highlights from the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase

Red fall

Redfall is finally making its second appearance on the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. This time we got a gameplay trailer with Layla and her telekinetic abilities and spectral elevators. We also got a comprehensive look at the island where the game will take place.

The trailer also outlined all the characteristics of the characters in Red Fall. Jacob has a deadeye-like ability from Red Dead Redemption 2, plus an invisibility cloak and a spectral crow that can fly at enemies. Remi de la Rosa is an engineer with a robot buddy equipped with a vampire-killing machine gun. Devinder then offers extensive knowledge of vampires and brings macgyvered equipment to capture enemies.

Their Knight Silksang

Hollow Knight Silksong was announced as a one-day Xbox Game Pass release on the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. The Hollow Knight sequel follows a new protagonist named Hornet as they explore a realm far removed from the original game. The trailer showed more of the game’s frenetic battle and Metrovania-style exploration.

High on the waist

High on Life is the upcoming FPS game from Rick and the Morty creators. From the trailer, it looks like we can expect lots of jokes and weird weapons, grenades and other tools that speak back to you as well.

Riot Games

Microsoft announced that Riot Games’ biggest titles are coming to the Xbox Game Pass soon. We’re saving a buzzing trailer of games coming to service, which include League of Legends, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Valorant, Legends of Runterra and Teamfight Tactics. While these games are technically free to play, locked agents, cards and winners will be free to purchase when they come to the Xbox Game Pass.

A Plague’s Tale: Requiem

Today we also got a new, longer gameplay trailer of A Plague’s Tale: Requiem. From the trailer it is clear that the story will take a darker turn as our main character, Amicia de Rune, becomes crueler and more aggressive when it comes to killing her enemies.

Forza Motorsport

The next Forza Motorsport finally got a gameplay trailer that shows off the new level of realistic graphics the game will debut. The game is confirmed to have beam tracking and more realistic damage to cars when rubbed against each other and the track. The trailer also revealed a number of new cars, including a race-ready golf cart.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

Microsoft Flight Simulator celebrates its 40th anniversary with the addition of tons of new aircraft including gliders and helicopters.

In addition, the Xbox announced that Halo-themed vehicles will be coming to the game today, and players will be able to fly the USNC Pelican.

Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 was announced as an October release in 2022 on the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. The new gameplay trailer also gave us a look at all the new looks of the characters. In addition, we met Overwatch’s newest character, Junker Queen, who is a gladiator warrior from the badlands who uses a shotgun and a large ax. Overwatch 2 Early Access begins October 4, 2022.

Ara History Untold

Ara History Untold, which was announced just a few days before, is a turn-based, historically magnificent strategy game. It will be available on day one on Windows PC with PC Game Pass, although a release date has not yet been announced.

The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle

The Elder Scrolls Online High Isle expansion launches on June 21st.

Fallout 76: The Pitt

The Pitt, a classic Fallout 3 spot is coming to Fallout 76 in September.

Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC

Forza Horizon 5 gets a Hot Wheels DLC. Like the Hot Wheels expansion from Forza Horizon 3 and Hot Wheels Unleashed, this expansion will include paths with winding paths, vertical turns and loop-the-loops, plus lots of hot wheels toy cars. Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC launches in July.

Sheet 2

Sheet 2 got another unveiling trailer, and it is now dated to be released next year in 2023, slightly delayed from the original release date in 2022 from last year’s revelation. It was also confirmed to be released on day one of the Game Pass.

Mock

We got a first look at the extremely graphic and wet gameplay of Scorn. Scorn was also announced for release on October 21, 2022, and it will be available day one on Game Pass.

Flintlock: Siege of Dawn

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is a third-person action RPG that uses both weapons and melee weapons. It will be released in early 2023 and is available Day One on the Xbox Game Pass.

Minecraft Legends

Minecraft Legends is a new action strategy game coming to Xbox and PC next year in 2023. Mojang’s latest project will be released on Game Pass Day One.

Lightyear Frontier

Lightyear Frontier is a new mech exploration game that reminds us a bit of Journey to a Savage Planet. It will be released in the spring of 2023 as a day on Game Pass.

Gunfire Reborn

Gunfire Reborn a shoot-em-up roguelike coming out in October 2022

The latest case of Benedict Fox

The Last Case of Benedict Fox will be released in the spring of 2023, and it has been confirmed to be day one on the Xbox Game Pass.

When dusk falls

As Dusk Falls is the first game from INTERIOR / NIGHT. It has rotoscoped graphics, and it will be an interactive drama that can be played with up to eight. It will be released on July 19 and it will be released on Xbox Game Pass Day One.

Naraka Bladepoint

Naraka Bladepoint comes to consoles for the first time with confirmed crossover and a new campaign mode. Naraka Bladepoint will be released on Xbox on June 23, 2022.

Pentiment

Obsidian unveiled their next game Pentiment as a narrative crime in Bavaria from the 16th century. Pentiment follows Andreas Maler, a traveling artist who stops at a monastery to create an illuminated manuscript, but the story takes a turn when Andreas’ mentor is accused of murder. Now it’s your job to solve the case and apparently it can take up to 25 years and Andreas will continue to be caught up in incidents.

Basic

Grounded finally leaves Early Access in September after being released in July 2020.

Ereban Shadow Legacy

The Ereban Shadow Legacy is set to launch in 2023, and Day One has been confirmed for the Xbox Game Pass.

Diablo IV

Diablo IV showed off the necromancer class when the latest new class was confirmed for the game. We saw a new game being played on an Xbox of the character class that woke up dead allies and launched skulls. Diablo IV will be released next year with crossover games and crossover progression on PC, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and Switch.

The Sea of ​​Thieves

Sea of ​​Thieves announced that the season 7 update is coming. The update will allow users to purchase, name and operate their own ship. You will also be able to customize the cottage to your liking.

Ravenlok

Ravenlok is a 2023 release coming to Game Pass on day one.

Hideo Kojima and Xbox Partnerships

Microsoft announced that they are collaborating with Hideo Kojima on a new game. Without revealing much of anything, Kojima simply stated that “This is a game I’ve always wanted to make.”

Starfield

Starfield has finally got the trailer for game disclosure we have been waiting for. The game seems to have a much more grounded space exploration experience with exploring planets, shooting enemies, mining, scanning and digital lock picking.

We also received a story trailer for Starfield which revealed that we will be looking for galaxy-changing alien artifacts and will have to deal with space-borne factions.

We also got a look at the character creator from skills to the skills system, customizable weapons, as well as a base and spaceship builder. And in case you were worried that you would explore the galaxy from a map menu, the starships are completely airworthy and you will also be in air combat with enemies.

In terms of scale, Starfield revealed that it will take place in a cluster of over 100 solar systems, one of which contains nine fully explorable planets.

Starfield will be released in 2023 on Xbox consoles and PC.
